Tech Media Camp is the ultimate 5-day summer media camp for Creatives in the South Bay Area in CA who want to do it all! Designed for kids aged 11–14, our multi-media camp brings the energy of film making, 2D animation production, music recording, MIDI music production and photography into one dynamic, creative environment.

Discover what it’s like to produce a film, create short 2D animations, record music in a real music studio, produce your own music beats and tunes, and take creative photographs with a DSLR camera.

Daily Sessions

Film

During the 5 day camp, all campers will

  • Craft a unique story using visual film techniques

  • Use DSLR cameras for film production to capture a unique short story

  • Use professional editing software to edit and complete a short film

Music and Photography

During the 5 day camp, all campers will

  • Learn to use DSLR Camera to take more creative photos.

  • Use MIDI instruments to produce music

  • Use the Freestyle Recording Studio to record and produce music - be ready to record your favorite song, either sing and/or play an instrument with a backing track like these: Ex1 | Ex2 | Ex3

Animation

Animation is a 2-dimensional illusion of movement by displaying a series of images, each one slightly different from the last. During the 5 day camp, all campers will learn the basic skill set for how to produce a simple animation, along with the hand-drawing, painting techniques and various 2D animation techniques. Sessions will focus on 2-Dimensional animation projects like creation of pre-cinema optical illusion toys, such as Zoetrope, Phenakistoscope and more. Additionally, students will also learn an overview of the stop motion animation.

  • Each day, campers rotate through 2 hours of film making, 2 hours of 2D animation production, and 2 hours of music production or photography. All equipment is provided, no experience is necessary.

  • Campers need to bring their creative imagination. What kind of story do they want to produce into a short film? What short animations do they want to produce? What song do they want to record? What kind of music beat and melodies do they want to produce? How do they see the world and capture moments in photos?

    Campers do need to bring their own lunch.

  • Medical Permission Forms can be submitted together with online registration portal. All forms must be submitted together with camper registration.

  • Our camp is priced as a full 5-day experience, so the fee is the same whether your child attends one day or all five, giving them the flexibility to attend any or all days.

  • How do I sign in and out?

    Parent(s) must sign camper(s) in and out of camp every day. For safety reasons, campers may not be dropped-off. Parent(s) must accompany the camper(s) to the sign-in/out table each day and show a valid photo ID. This is for the protection of your camper.

    No one other than those listed on the registration form will be allowed to sign your child out of camp. If there is a need for your child to be released to someone besides you, the parents, please ensure those names are listed on your child’s registration form. For your child’s safety, photo ID is required by all individuals picking up campers.

    “Self-Sign Out” permission may be granted for children who ride a bicycle or walk to/from camp. If you would like to allow your child to sign him/herself out please indicate so on their registration form.
